Hello Again!
It's been another couple of months, and it seems clear that this is not a strength. I apologize for the gap in time. Though with some of you, I'm happy to say, we stay in pretty steady correspondence through phone or mail. Well, it's been a busy summer for us so far. Caleb has been doing two summer classes, the current one being online, and I think that's just about over (and then fall semester will be here). I've been working....a lot.... For eleven weeks I filled in for one of the supporting managers and I loved it. Just as that was ending, the department manager of Frozen/Dairy broke his leg in three places. I now have his position. I can say honestly, that I don't enjoy it. I don't get as much people interaction as the previous manager job or the deli. I miss being able to talk with people and connect with them. I still get to do that in small ways, and maybe God has me here for a season for a purpose...I'm sure he does...but it has been difficult at times to get excited about work. There are some great things happening. We've had a few friends of mine at work start coming to Karis, and one of which is wanting to be a Christian. So that's exciting! It has also been a blessing to us to be able to be there for my manager and his wife, Mike and Tammy as they learn to journey on after the loss of their son, Jake. Tonight we are going to their house to launch extra fireworks of in his memory. He loved the Fourth of July.
Caleb is about to start year two of the internship. It's been encouraging learning alongside him about leadership in the church. Caleb is working with such a great team of men that truly love the Lord. Lately he's been doing the introductions and announcements, helping with the security team, leading a small bible study, and still being the go-to-guy when things need to get done. We are daily thankful that God brought us to this church body. We love the people and their heart for ministry.
A handful of new things are happening: our C-Group leader and his wife, Mike and Crystal, are about to have their first child! The are due in September, but will probably have the baby at the end of August. We're so excited for them. Also, Caleb and I are moving in twenty days! We were able to find a more affordable apartment that will allow us to be better stewards with our money. I'm very excited about the move. Not only will it save us a lot of money, but it will be the same apartment complex as my friend Mindy, who along with her daughter, Payson, has started coming to Karis. There are also two other Walmart friends that are moving there this month!
Things to be praying for:
-Pray for wisdom and guidance for Caleb as he makes some choices about what comes next after school and the internship. There are a few choices for us at the present.
-Pray God continues to work through me at Walmart, however that may look, and that I will be content in the changes.
-Pray for my health. I have a doctors appointment in a few weeks that will hopefully be encouraging.
-Pray we can be intentional in our actions and conversations to resemble Christ.
-Pray for smooth sailing on our move!
Grace and Peace,
Kelly and Caleb
